Girl! Take some time off!
Alright listen! I am all about working hard and staying motivated, always doing the most! Yes, I am an owner of two business plus all my mom and home duties. I am grateful I get to chose what days I get to work and which ones I don’t. This year I’ve already taken more than a hand full of trips and they were wonderful. That is usually what we do to get away and recharge. I love the feeling of being somewhere else and not having to worry about the dirty dishes in the sink, and the mess the kids made. So we really do dig that hotel life. Let me just tell you as much fun traveling is, it is exhausting at the same time when it’s too close together. I feel like these first five months of the year we have been living out of our suitcases! So, I started feeling a little overwhelmed. I said to myself, I need a break. I need to stop everything I’m doing and stay still. What am I supposed to be doing in this very moment? What does God want me to be doing? How can I be more present? What should I really be working on? I put my self in timeout literally. I gave myself a three day weekend. Two of the days, my kids were at school. So it was amazing! I thought well maybe I should make an appointment to get a facial or massage. Quickly, I changed my mind and said no. I don’t want to be ANY where at a specific time.
I’m challenging you, you hard working mama! Take some time for yourself, even if it’s one full day!
I really enjoy what I do, but there is such a thing as feeling like you’re being pulled in every direction. I could only give so much. This has been the best thing for me! I am feeling great, and passionate about life again!! This just goes to show that no matter how things look, how awesome Instagram photos are, how successful they look, how many trips they take… it all means nothing when your soul isn’t right.
So I will finish with…..
-Stay focused on what you should be doing.
-Distractions are a real thing.
-Check on yourself too!
-It’s ok to say no.
-Ask for help.
